FileThis is inherently secure—your documents are safe and protected at all times. But if an identity thief acquires your login and password information, he or she will have the same access that you do. Be sure to keep your account information private and use a unique password. FileThis lets you change your password and other security settings any time.

Changing Security Settings from a Browser

To change your password or other security settings:

  1. Login to FileThis from a browser.
  2. Click your name in the upper-right corner of the FileThis window.
  3. Select Security from the menu.

  4. To specify how long FileThis should keep you logged in, select an option from the Log Me Out Automatically After menu. 

  5. Check Tracking Your File This Account to [do something].

  6. To change your password, enter your Current Password then your New Password. To confirm, retype the password.

  7. Click Save Changes, and then click Done.
If you changed your password, remember it for all future logins.

Tip: As with other websites that contain your personal information, you should Log Out from FileThis when you’re not using it. By default, FileThis logs you out automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity. You can change this to anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 days.

 




Changing Your User Account Settings in the App

To change your email address or name:

  1. Login to FileThis from the app.
  2. Swipe left to display the app screen. [does this black screen have a name?]
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Make any changes in the Security area:
    • Tap Off next to Passcode Lock if you want to add a four-digit passcode to the password. [does this work?]
    • Tap the arrow next to Change Password to enter a new password and confirm it.
    • Swipe the switch next to Logout On Exit App to have FileThis log you out whenever you leave the app.
  5. Tap the FileThis icon in the upper-left corner to save your changes and return to app screen.
If you changed your password, remember it for all future logins.
